Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn

St. Joseph Church, Achrafieh, Beirut

On the first official collaboration between The Lebanese American University (LAU) and the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO), the Imagine Workshop and Concert Series will bring together four renowned artists, who will meet to conceive a pure Classical program by the pillars of the First Viennese School-the three composers of the Classical period in Western art music in the late-18th-century Vienna: Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven. The whole orchestra will perform the program in collaboration with LAU faculty Dr. Seba Ali, LAU guest-artists Dr. Salley Koo, and Mr. Avery Waite. The concert will be conducted by Garo Avessian.

President Jabbra will open the event with a speech on the massive efforts of the vast cultural input of both Higher Learning Establishments for humanity to increase the educational and cultural excellence of the future generations. Following president Jabbra's speech, the orchestra will begin with the Overture from the Marriage of Figaro, followed by Beethoven's Triple Concerto with LAU's soloists, and ending with Haydn's Symphony no. 104.
