About the Lecture
The lecture is about the political economy of media in the Arab region. Dr. Nashabe’s will describe how the political economy of media in Lebanon has shaped the policies, economics, and content practices of Al-Akhbar. The lecture will provide a local example of how the political economy of media shapes journalism practices and intuitions.
About Dr. Omar Nashabe
Co-founder of Al-Akhbar, Dr. Omar Nashabe is the editor of the Justice Section, columnist and member of its editorial board, as well as a former lecturer and professor at LAU. This is in addition to his media contributions across Arab and international satellite stations. Dr. Nashabe holds a PhD in Criminal Justice and a Masters in Social Policy.
