SKAM - the phenomenon of a hugely successful web series

Nikolaj Christensen from the Dansih School of Media & Journalism will be giving a leture about the Norwegian web series SKAM that has been a huge success in Norway, Denmark and Sweden as well as in other parts of the world. Its about a group of teenagers in high school but its audience goes from tweens to +50. Its an example of successful storytelling and very successful distribution on social media. The themes are daring (from love and intrigues to homosexuality, bipolarity and being a young Muslim woman in a Scandinavian environment) and told with great honesty and truthfulness. The series has been able to create a sense of urgency among the audience where they have followed the characters on Instagram and blogs and consuming small clips during the week, which by the end of the week has been put together to a whole episode.
